Nathan Gagné is folk-pop singer-songwriter who plays and writes in the shadow of Ed Sheeran. Gagné's foundation as an artist, is the simple "man and his six string", coupled with beautiful songwriting, catchy lyrics and his radio-friendly voice. We worked with Gagné (and drummer/percussionist Brandon McShad) on his debut EP “Look at the Stars”, a great first showing of what Gagné has to offer as an artist.
Callahan Ioannu stays busy. Not only does he write/play/sing in the incredible indie rock band “Lunch Hour Husbands”, he performs as “GXLDN BXY” in a pop-electro duo. Callahan also just released a new project under his own name and we were lucky enough to be a part of it. Callahan’s solo EP “Hey, Blue Eyes” is a collection of acoustic indie-folk tracks that brings Dallas Green, Elliot Smith and Julian Baker, among others to mind. What makes Callahan’s music so unique are his lyrics: honest and melancholic. We recorded the EP live; highlighting his dynamic and intimate performance.
Victor's Other Monsters is a horror-punk band with an original, freaky twist and a melodic sound. Bass and Guitar riffs by the multitalented Jack Orzari, the voice behind the imagery-filled lyrics, Rivky Sarah, and glueing them all together is Max Chorney blasting away the drums. We were privileged to work on such extraordinary music with such great musicians.
Houndhouse is an indie rock group from Montreal with a progressive/jazz/alt/slack rock sound. Their music is easy on the ears and demonstrates their passion through each note. Their sound is unique and innovative in the world of indie.
They like to make rice as a side dish for their tears. Check out their EP and experience it for yourself!
FoOlish is the upcoming leader and innovator of ska/reggae's revival in the Montreal music scene. As performers, they are a must-see; their music is guaranteed to get you "moving". FoOlish brought their magic into the studio and lay down their first songs. Working with such talented musicians is always a delight and we are thrilled to have been part of the process.
The drive, passion and talent behind their music is what makes this band anything but foolish.
Keep your eyes and ears out for FoOlish's upcoming music.
MOOCH is a new-wave grunge band that has been in Montreal's music scene for 3 years now, and has taken part of many lineups. MOOCH's uniqueness originates from the consistency of heaviness in their music; both in-studio and on-stage. We worked with MOOCH on their first EP in the summer 2015 , titled “Demo: Take 1”. Lead singer and guitarist, Ben Cornell’s heavy, overdriven guitar riffs range from the grungy tones of Nirvana to the psychedelic sounds of the 60’s, complemented by an impeccably tight rhythm section.
Dirty, grimy and downright heavy; these are the signature sounds that define MOOCH.
Pendulum Swing is one of the most versatile bands that have come through Avbury's doors. The variety of music they offer ranges from Folk to Easy-Core/Punk. Lead singer, Kiara Pollice has an iconic voice and drummer, Lianne Saccal is easily one of the tightest drummers. Pendulum Swing's heaviness draws its roots from bassist, Logan McDonald's Metal influence and guitarist, Alessio Bressan's catchy, driven guitar riffs. Together, Pendulum Swing has set themselves up for a very bright future. We worked with them on their debut EP over the summer and early fall of 2016, and their music packs a punch!
Privy is an independent artist with a voice that brings on "the chills" and whose songwriting skills soar. Privy brought her musical visions to us in the winter of 2015 and sought to showcase herself as an artist. In collaboration with the Avbury team and semi-professional beatboxer, GianCarlo Luigi Elisii (Elisii), Privy kicked off her musical career with a sentimental, acoustic-based Pop-Rock EP, whose emotional character and dynamic is truly unique.
Peter Drucker is one of Avbury’s very first. He is a passionate singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and visionary of his musical craft. His debut EP, Hell and Hurricanes, is honed by catchy melodies, clever lyrics and captivating storylines, all within an Indie/Pop-Rock feel. As a recording artist, Peter knows what he wants to hear; he has consistently brought his creativity and passion through Avbury’s doors and always leaves satisfying “earworms” behind. Peter warns: “this is just the beginning!”
Listen to his debut EP today and enjoy the journey yourself!
